Although the Sphynx is a hairless breed, this does not mean they are as pink and wrinkled as newborn babies. In fact, they can have various markings, or be made up of a single solid color that is readily apparent. As delicate as they look, they are said to be quite sturdy. They are playful, inquisitive, friendly cats that typically love to be the center of attention. Here I have simply included a very basic cream/white Sphynx. If desired, I will include some of the more common markings of the Sphynx. It's not overly noticeable in the pictures, but while looking closely in the game, you should be able to see how the pinkish/peach skin color starts to show through as you get down to the feet, or belly. Unfortunately, the kittens will not have such a lovely dusting of fur color over pink skin.. Kittens (and presumably puppies) appear to simply take the base color of their eventual adult coats. So in this case, theoretically, the kittens will be bright pink!  Shocked

Very nice.

Just installed Pets myself and looking to start messing with the settings to see what new and strange creatures I can have roaming the hood. Smiley

I like the big ears. But all the cats in my hood at the moment are Russian Blues.  Cheesy

I had a russian blue kitten for a very brief time once before it was run over. Russian blues are the epitome of catness for me.

I like the Sphynx cat Dylan. I made a cat with lovely undertones of semi-translucent orange, browns and beige layers. Last night was my first play with create a pet and I was really impressed with the versatility of the creation tool. You say that they don't inherit all the layers though? I was looking forward to cross breeding to see what happened.

I did cross Morgana Le Fey, my border collie, with the head wolf - Bailey in my game - I got a fairly wolf like black creature with two white legs - both on one side, Barnum is not a prepossesing dog. If they only inherit one base layer, that'll be why.

ETA: This is Nerfertiti, though now I look again she might be a bit too orange, still, lots of fun playing.

Oh, she's lovely witch!... What I said was, their markings don't show up as kittens.. As for the layers, a mix of each are inherited from the parents, and will make themselves known once the kitten turns into an adult.

Ooooh! Glad I misunderstood!

I made a red-gold weimeraner(sp?) last night, more a viszla(sp?) sort of colour, so that will be neat to see too. I've been giving away the pups and kits, except for one from each litter, I'd be better to wait and see how they turn out before adopting them out.

I wish sim skins blended like that then.

I'm sure they have that in store for Sims 3... Boy, I hope so! Blending skintones would be so much more realistic than just having one or the other all the time.

This is Nefertiti crossed with a heavier set cat that has russian blue colouring. The bandit mask now stands out because the top layer to blend it in to the main coat did not come across, I can see a bluey tinge as well. This is fun!

Hey Dylan, I downloaded Sphynx but she doesn't show up in my game, I've tried putting the package in Downloads and Saved Sims. Any ideas? When I go to Create a Family, there's only a Random button above the cat, no bin button.

ETA: Don't worry, I've just found two new folders - pet breeds and pet coats. I obviously need to update my package installer. :/

You should put it into the PetBreeds folder and you will find it in the breed tab of the create a pet, there is no "pet-bin" like there is a sim bin.
Hope this helps

Just an update Dylan, I used your Sphynx breed to create Baast and Horus. I left Baast as your original pink and tried to make Horus blue - not as a base colour but as an overlay. I was hoping to get lilac! As it turns out they were pink kittens and very pretty too! But no lilac when the first two kittens grew up, they're both breeding true to the Sphynx breed.
