Fun fact of the day: Fancy private universities take up far more of a person's time than do community colleges. Just saying.

So I'm in Strangetown now.  Going through all of the households and using "Upgrade Pre-FT" on everyone with the lot debugger to get my missing LTA points, and it occurs to me:

"I have no clue what would make suitable secondary aspirations for most of these sims."

Some are obvious.  Lazlo should clearly be Pleasure.  Fortune for Loki and Knowledge for Circe.  But for the rest I'm at a loss.

Does Pascal like the Grilled Cheese?  Does Nervous fancy himself a Mr. Popularity?  Is Chloe a closet Family sim?   Huh

And in the midst of all of these questions, I realize that I have to do the same for my Pleasantview Remix sims.  Ugh...

Pleasantview Heights.  Come for the shallow drama.  Stay for the lame comedy!

Need a new nightclub for your sims?  Try out Cowboy Bill's.

Pascal: Family
Vidcund: Hmmmm. Maybe Fortune.

General Buzz: Family or Knowledge
Tank: Knowledge
Ripp: Pleasure, Popularity, or Family

Lola: Fortune or Popularity
Chloe: Popularity

I don't have FT yet, but I think that's how I'd do it.

Nervous should be a Grilled Cheese Cheesy

Be warned-until they start making headway in their Primary asp. then all they want to so is serve/eat/talk etc about Grilled Cheese :Smiley

Well, so far so good.  Only got a few of the households set up so far.  But I'm liking the results.

Sim-Trepie made a walk by on the Singles Sorority lot...

Take a wild guess at what his secondary is.   Tongue

Yep.  Knowledge/Romance.  Geek by day.  Freak by night.   Grin

Next combo I want to try is Family/Romance.  Or as I'll call it, the "Desperate Housewife".   Tongue

I have a system devised for these things... Let me rustle up the papers.

Okay.. Primary aspiration is decided by the zodiac signs, which all fall into 4 elemental categories: Fire, Earth, Air, Water.
Aries, Leo, Sagittarius = Fire = Romance
Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn = Earth = Fortune
Gemini, Libra, Aquarius = Air = Knowledge
Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces = Water = Family

These are my four favorite aspirations so they take top priority. This system is pretty in sync with the stereotypical astrological personalities. You may note that all the zodiac signs within a category are rather different from each other in regards to in-game personality. This prevents getting stuck in a rut and having all your sims of a certain aspiration have pretty much the same exact personality according to your own personal stereotypes.

Secondary aspirations, on the other hand, are based on stereotypes. I took each aspiration, minus grilled cheese, and considered each personality trait, then decided half to be more of one thing, and the other half the opposite. This is what I got:

Pleasure: Sl, Ou, La, Pl, Ni
Family: Ne, Sh, Ac, Pl, Ni
Romance: Ne, Ou, La, Se, Gr
Knowledge: Ne, Sh, La, Se, Gr
Fortune: Sl, Sh, Ac, Se, Gr
Popularity: Sl, Ou, Ac, Pl, Ni

The one they conform to the best determines the secondary aspiration. If the secondary aspiration comes up as the same as the primary, the second-most conforming secondary wins. What this makes all of Strangetown.. I really couldn't tell you, but it's easy enough to find out. Tongue

Maybe you should get together with Andrew Zimmern. He could probably give you some preparation tips.
